New York City, New York
New York City is known for its beautiful winter weather. The city is well-designed for visitors wanting to experience the snowy city. Although it may feel like it is enormous, all of its major sites are within a short subway ride away. Begin your trip in Central Park, where ice skating is just as fun as in Chicago.

Big Sky, Montana
The Big Sky ski area in southwest Montana is known for its incredible snow dump, which can typically reach over 30 feet. This region is also known for its great downhill skiing.

The area features four mountains that can reach over 4,000 feet in elevation. With over 300 runs and 6,000 acres of terrain, you’ll be able to experience every part of the region’s stunning scenery. The Mountain Village, which is located nearby, offers great apres-ski activities.

Stowe, Vermont
Although Vermont’s ski slopes are not as popular as those in Colorado and Utah, they still have plenty of cross-country trails to keep you entertained.

If you’re looking to escape the crowds and long lines at the ski slopes, a cross-country skiing trip might be the ideal alternative. In the woods near Stowe, you’ll find numerous trails that are easy to navigate. You can also pack lunch and enjoy hot chocolate while taking in the views.

Lake Tahoe, California
The Lake Tahoe area is known for its 12 ski resorts. These areas are located in South and North Lake Tahoe. One of the most popular areas in California is Heavenly Mountain. Although it has a lot of people, it is located on South Lake and is easy to get away from. Another popular area is Sugar Bowl, which is close to Sacramento and San Francisco and has the highest snow levels in the region.

Besides being a great ski area, Lake Tahoe also has plenty of other attractions, such as beautiful scenery, a variety of restaurants, and a couple of casinos. It is the host of the Lake Tahoe Snowfest, which takes place every year during the winter season.
